Clinical Interests: management of acute and chronic illnesses, general care of all ages (newborns to elderly), well visits, sick visits, sports physicals.

As my patients know, I am a mom and wife.  My children are now teenagers and I enjoy being very involved in their lives. Whether it’s volunteering to film my son’s football games or cheering for my daughter during her volleyball games, I want to be present for it.  My husband and I also enjoy taking the kids offshore fishing, wakeboarding on the lake, or four-wheeling through the woods.

I believe when you care for a patient’s health, you have to take care of their mind, body and soul. Only treating a disease process is not as helpful as treating a patient’s emotional and physical well-being.

I chose family medicine so I could take care of all ages. Taking care of the entire family helps you take care of the individual. Understanding someone’s family dynamics helps you understand the person. When I started my medical school journey, the last place I thought I’d end up was primary care. After numerous rotations and exposure to various specialties, I realized that I enjoy every part of medicine.  So, instead of choosing only one area, family medicine fit me best. I can help people with multiple areas of their health, not just one.

Not only do I strive to build a good patient-doctor relationship, but as a family practitioner, I feel like we are family.  I enjoy getting to know my patients and spending time with each person. Not only do we discuss health issues, but other aspects of our lives, such as our families, dogs, hobbies, and life interests.

Why did I make the huge decision to change to concierge medicine?  I like to spend plenty of time with each patient. In a conventional practice setting, that is difficult. Someone is always pushing the doctors to see more and more patients, but there aren’t enough hours in the day. I want to be able to spend time with each patient to get to know them and take the time they need to help care for them the best way possible.
